I've been coming to Sunday services for a few years. This place really works to be welcoming to new members. There's been an explosion in new members since covid, and that's led to so many new things to do - a large, wonderful music program, writing groups, social justice activism, book clubs, movie...
Great little place! The venue outside was a nice-looking church with messages on it of peace and blm. The showroom was small, tight, and rather hot. They did attempt some ac by way of ceiling fans and a larger fan blowing cold air from somewhere else next to stage right, so there was that. The bands...
It’s very rare (I have been told) to find an inclusive, energetic and extremely liberal congregation, but First UU manages to be all of those things. The church is extremely LGBTQ friendly and offers a range of activities. Services are thought provoking and often very fun.
